

Eligibility for Old Age Center
· 65 years and above
· 20 members from the Tibetan Community and 20 from the Local Community
· 2 members from any other place
· All elders above the age of 65 are welcome to visit the DCC
(a nominal tee would be charged) and the OPD
· The most needy would be given first priority
· Those with no other family members are welcome
· With the consent of the parents. children could afford this service for their parents
2 residents from anywhere else
· Lot of practitioners visits the Monastery. Therefore two seats would be kept open for anyone above the age of 65, from
other than Tashi Jong to stay here. This would be a paid seat. A double bed room.
One Kitchen + One common Dinning Hall
· A kitchen and a common dinning hall would be on the ground floor. Food would be available for all here. The practitioners
could also eat here if they inform in advance. It would be a self serving facility, with o washing area to wash ones own plates.
· All residents and day-timers could be involved as per their choice in the activities of the kitchen - cutting vegetables, washing
etc
· 2 cooks would be employed with a team of 2 assistants
· They would work on shifts with the help of volunteers
A Day Care Center (CC) + Clinic (OPD)
· The day care center is for those who do not wish to be residents of the old age home but wish to be part of the occupational
activities arranged for the members. These members are called Day-timers
· A nominal monthly fee would be charged and its proceeds would go towards sustaining the institute
· Volunteers and professionals could contribute their services here. The Venerable Teachers of the Monastery could also
spend time with them at this center with the inmates and day - timers
· The DCC would plan outdoor activities for the residents - like visits, picnics, outdoor games, gardening, planting,
competitions, festivals, celebrations etc.
· All members, including the doctors, nurses, social worker, Para-professionals, care givers, peons, cooks, volunteers, the
residents and the day-timers would be made part of these activities
· Yoga, meditation, discussions, creative classes (candle making, weaving and crochet) could be practiced here
· The members could also choose to conduct story telling classes to the children from the crèche
· A routine could be planned by the inmates themselves
· The doctor, Psychiatrist and the hurse would help keep a check on the health of the inmates and the day-timers in the clinic
O.P.D (which could be once a week)
· Camps (eye, dental. hearing aids, mental health and other diseases) could be conducted here
Toilets
· A set of two toilets should be available on this floor for visitors and other members of the institute
A recreation room
· It could be a room attached to the DCC
· TV, indoor games like chess, charom, cards, and music would be accessible here
· This would be a place for members to spend their time while they are not involved in other activities, for them to interact and
find better company with each other
An office
· The accountant would sit here in this office
· All the storing material necessary for the institute would be along with the room in a store room
· The filing, accounts and administration would happen from this room
HUMAN RESOURCES
This institute would be a self running project which would have to raise funds to sustain it self. The institute would have its own governing body that would make ail the necessary decisions with respect to
